Project CAJ- Youth' Friends Center (Luanda- ANGOLA) - VIH prevention and counselling
[Margarida Gaspar de Matos , collaborating with Institut Pasteur ( Dr Kemal Cherabi et Dr Jean Elie Malkin) and TOTAL. This study aims at developing, implementing and evaluating a clinical, educational and "peer education" approach to prevent VIH infection an support VIH infected. Includes the training and supervision of health professionals, teachers and peers ( "activistas"). Includes the edition of a manual. Includes a more systemic work at institutional and policy level.
The project has the main objectives:
- Implementing a community-based programme to prevent VIH infection and to support VIH infected at a local level in Luanda
- Training and supervision of health professionals, teachers and "peers"
- Evaluation, dissemination and discussion of the results with the participants in each group
- Monitoring and development of a manual and DVD.
- Development of a database and an evaluation procedure for internal CAJ data monitoring.
